Cleveland Municipal Stadium, Cleveland
Home of the Cleveland Indians 1932-1993.
Large scale drawing created using inks on heavyweight paper.
Working on a large scale in an energetic way this drawing uses a wide variety of mark making techniques which construct the image of the ballpark, giving depth and expression to this study of this historic ballpark. The manner of addition, layering and subtraction speaks directly to the legacies of our sporting venues which are very much part of our geography, history, identity and communities – both in their presence and also their removal.
At a distance the marks fuse together building the stadium and surrounding area which when approached and viewed closer disappear.
