Josh Gibson MVP Baseball Card
This artwork was created in partnership with the Josh Gibson Foundation as part of the JG20MVP Campaign and social media ‘Card Art Tournament’.
In Spring 2021, artists from all around the world created baseball cards inspired by the great Josh Gibson. The aim of this was to have the Major League Baseball MVP trophy renamed to honour Josh Gibson and the players of the Negro Leagues. The painting I created for this event was designed and made over a 2 month period. Loaded with symbols and meaning this artwork is designed to capture the full story of Josh and his legacy. See the full video below explaining the art work and the concepts therein:
The artwork is certified by the Josh Gibson Foundation and all sales come with an official Josh Gibson Foundation, Certificate of Authenticity. 20% of the proceeds from all sales go to the Josh Gibson Foundation.
