I have lived and worked in South Korea for nearly 10 years now and the political situation with the North is always in the news at home in the UK and here in Korea. At times tensions have dangerously risen between the two countries, but this Olympics has seen a huge step forward in the relations between them.  This moment where North Korea’s Hwang Chung Gum and South Korea’s Won Yun-jong carried a Unified Korean flag at the opening ceremony was a perfect image of how sport and the Olympics can provide break throughs and build relationships.
